The establishment of Gearhart & Associates, a consulting and services company, stemmed from the recognition of the need for quality data processing support for end users of computer equipment.
W. Roy Gearhart formed his first company (a software house serving businesses and country clubs with accounting software) in 1978 as a response to his experience with software development companies that were more concerned with the bottom line than customer satisfaction. After 10 years of successful operations, the company required additional capital to expand into the PC environment and continue the quality support its customers had come to expect. At that time, Mr. Gearhart sold that company to a group of investors who financed the conversion of its software to PC’s. As of 1995 the company was still operating successfully.
In 1987, Roy Gearhart started Gearhart & Associates to provide consulting and contract programming to state and local government agencies in Indiana, Ohio, Michigan and Texas, which continues to be a large aspect of the company. Two years later, Gearhart and Associates expanded its services in order to provide conversion assistance for Advanced Computer Systems (ACS) to BANKER (a software application for banking).
Two years later, Gearhart and Associates expanded its services to provide conversion assistance for Advanced Computer Systems (ACS) to a product family they owned called BANKER (a software application for banking). Since then, Gearhart & Associates has aided in the conversion of over 25 banks. In addition to providing conversion and de-conversion support, the company has assisted in the development of enhancements to the BANKER product (currently owned by Jack Henry and Associates). Gearhart and Associates also support many banking customers by providing customized modifications to BANKER and a variety of special programs and functions including custom interfaces to home banking, telephone and platform systems.
Today, Gearhart & Associates continues to grow, confirming the value of superior services, quality products and an on-going responsiveness to customer needs. |
